Emmy's owner couldn't put the little squirrel back, so she did the next best thing.
She put it in with Emmy's kittens, and the mom cat began treating it as one of her own, feeding and grooming it.
The squirrel seems perfectly at home, although it may think it's a cat. You can pick it up and pet it, and it actually purrs.
