Arrests made in SoCal, NYC in Medicare scheme

GLENDALE, Calif. There were several raids throughout the Los Angeles area early Wednesday morning. FBI agents were seen serving warrants at a home in Glendale on the 3000 block of Emerald Isle Drive.

The arrests in L.A. County coincide with raids carried out in New York, Ohio and New Mexico.

The suspects have been charged by Manhattan prosecutors for allegedly stealing the identities of doctors and patients to submit fake bills to Medicare.

Authorities said some of the suspects have links to Armenian organized crime.

The suspects are scheduled to be in federal court later Wednesday to face racketeering charges.
