Anaheim apartment fire displaces 33 people

ANAHEIM, Calif. Fire authorities said the /*fire*/ at 1555 Benmore Lane started in one of the five attached garages, wrapped around to the exterior of the four-unit building, eventually reaching the attic on the second floor.

Firefighters were dispatched around 3 a.m. and had the fire under control within 30 minutes.

Officials said that at least three of the four apartment units in the building suffered some water and smoke damage.

The fire caused approximately $250,000 worth in damage to the structure and $100,000 worth in damage to its contents.

The cause of the blaze was under investigation.
