Bieber, young stars honored for charity work

LOS ANGELES Not for their talents, but rather their charitable work.

Pop star /*Justin Bieber*/ was among the attendees of Variety's fourth annual "/*Power of Youth*/" event in Los Angeles.

It celebrates young stars and their involvement with philanthropic and humanitarian causes.

Bieber was honored for his work on behalf of "Pencils of Promise," which helps educate underprivileged children around the world.

"We built about 15 schools and more to come," Bieber said. "I just feel it's great that youths like me are being able to help other youths."

Actor David Henrie was among the honorees.

Other young stars attending included Charlie McDermott from ABC's "The Middle," and Molly Quinn from ABC's "Castle."
