School of Rock teens rock out on 'Dancing'

School of Rock's student musicians from rocked 'Dancing With the Stars' Tuesday night with a medley of classics. With plenty of help from the Powerhouse Choir from Burbank's John Burroughs High School, several rising dance stars and talented teenage musicians from The School of Rock all had the chance to play for millions of people Tuesday night on "Dancing with the Stars."

School of Rock is a music education program whose mission is to inspire kids to rock on stage and in life.

"They learn teamwork," said School of Rock director Wendy Winks. "They are in a band so they are working together. It is not a competitive situation. They all get better at their own pace. They form bonds and friendships with each other that really carry them well through life."

The band members who rocked in primetime came from both the North Hollywood and Vista Schools of Rock.

"You go to School of Rock and you get to play in a band," said student Maxwell Peterson. "You get to perform a live show and you get lessons. All of them make you a better musician all around."

"I've learned respect through being in a band," said student Max Bouvrie.

Surprisingly, many of these young teens have nerves of steel. A lot of them say they felt very comfortable on the stage.

"I have been doing this so long that it just doesn't cross my mind to be worried about a couple of million people," said student Jacob Butler. "I know I can do what they ask me to do."
