Metrolink tracks crack in freezing temps

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. ABC7's Leo Stallworth boarded a Metrolink train before 7 a.m. in Acton, but he didn't arrive at the station in Santa Clarita until almost 10 a.m. It's normally just a 30-minute ride.

Palmdale resident Doreen Fougner said she thought the delay was due to a bomb threat.

Metrolink officials said that through the Acton area, the tracks were frozen for hours.

Overnight temperatures in the Antelope Valley dipped way below freezing, but despite the bone-chilling cold, eager shoppers camped out overnight at a Best Buy in Palmdale to gear up for Black Friday.
