LOS ANGELES --
There's still some debate about whether or not vitamins are beneficial. But a new study has a positive finding about vitamin d helping babies breathe easier.Researchers found that when pregnant women take vitamin D supplements, their babies have a lower risk of breathing problems.
Experts followed more than 900 newborns and measured vitamin D levels in blood taken from their umbilical cord.
Five years later, doctors found that infants with the highest levels of vitamin D at birth had lower risks for respiratory infections and asthma.
