Garden Grove police fatally shoot suspect

GARDEN GROVE, Calif. Officers arriving to a call of an armed robbery of a person near Harbor Boulevard and Westminster Avenue just after 5 p.m. spotted two suspects who ran in opposite directions.

One suspect went running across Harbor Boulevard and was hit by a car, but got back up and continued running through a gas station parking lot and then jumped over an 8-foot wall, officials said.

Police then opened fire in car wash parking lot. The suspect died at the scene. It was unclear if the suspect shot at police.

Authorities said a weapon was recovered at the scene.

No officers were injured.

Another suspect, a male Hispanic, fled and is being sought.
