Obese kids may not be getting enough sleep

LOS ANGELES

Previous studies have shown obese children get less sleep time than other kids. But a new finding shows that they may also have a harder time playing "catch up" to regain that lost sleep on the weekends.

Researchers conclude that the combination of less sleep and more erratic sleep patterns throughout the week may have a negative effect and cause children to gain or keep excess weight on.
