Former TV anchor rescued from raging river

SPOKANE, Wash.

Former Spokane anchor Debra Gilbert Wilde was trapped in her sport utility vehicle after she lost control and crashed down an embankment into the rising waters.

Rescue crews were able to paddle out to her, grab her from the vehicle and bring her to safety.

She was not seriously hurt, but did suffer hypothermia from exposure to the chilly water.

Police arrested Wilde for driving under the influence.
