LOS ANGELES --
Going to the grocery store may not be the healthy activity you thought it was. Shopping carts are to blame.A new study conducted by the University of Arizona found E. coli bacteria on 50 percent of shopping carts tested.
Researchers tested random carts in four different states. In addition to E. coli, they found a host of other types of bacteria.
Researchers said they found more bacteria on shopping carts than in supermarket bathrooms because disinfectants are used in the bathrooms.
