His performance comes just days before he'll appear at Carnegie Hall. 8-year-old Kevin Ou played at an awards assembly at Oswalt Academy, where he is a third grader.
He's been playing piano for just three years, but he's already won second place in the American Protégé International Piano and Strings Competition. He's excited about going to New York.
"I want to see a lot of stuff there," said Ou. "On the stage at Carnegie, and probably to see the Statue of Liberty."
Ou said he practices two or three hours a day, but he still likes sports and video games.
