Palm Springs lieutenant released; girlfriend found safe in Ariz.

CATHEDRAL CITY, Calif.

Lt. Abraham Tokier, 50, was freed just hours after investigators located 37-year-old Dawn Foster in Lake Havasu City.

Foster disappeared eight days ago after police responded to a domestic disturbance call outside Tokier's Cathedral City home in the 68800 block of Panorama Road.

Tokier was later arrested on suspicion of domestic violence.

Authorities said Foster was in good condition. She told authorities in Arizona she was surprised anyone was looking for her. She was questioned, but not held.

Tokier still faces domestic violence charges. He was put on paid leave Feb. 25 for what Palm Springs police Capt. Dennis Graham called a "personnel matter."
