SoCal water agencies to sue over sucker fish habitat

SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA

The threatened Santa Ana sucker fish recently had its federally designated habitat expanded.

Local Water Agencies said the problem is that conservation efforts to protect the fish could result in a net water loss so large it would equal the amount needed to supply a half million people.

The sucker fish is known to live only in /*Southern California*/.

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service said without expanded conservation, the sucker fish could be on the path to extinction.
