Researchers examined the medical records and olive oil consumption of over 7,600 study participants. Those who cooked with olive oil, used it as a spread and as a dressing, had a 41 percent lower risk for a stroke than those who didn't use olive oil.
A spokesman for the American Heart Association suggests pairing olive oil use with other healthy lifestyle behaviors to cut your risk of stroke by as much as 80 percent.
