The pursuit ended at 58th Street and Vermont Avenue in South Los Angeles.
The woman involved in the accident is 6 months pregnant. Investigators said she was sitting in the car that was being chased by police. The extent of her injuries is unknown, but an official said the woman was bleeding from the head as she was taken to the hospital.
The male driver was last seen running through the area on foot. A witness said he fled westbound on Slauson Avenue.
The driver was going about 60 mph when he crashed into three parked cars. They tried to pull him over around 3:30 a.m. That's when he led officers on a short pursuit through South Los Angeles. Authorities believe that he was driving under the influence.
The incident remains under investigation.
