Riverside man shot by police in confrontation

RIVERSIDE, Calif.

Officers were called to a house in the 4600 block of Hedrick Avenue, where they ended up in a confrontation with a man at the front door. Officers said the man, identified as Gerardo Rodriguez, was uncooperative.

During that confrontation, one of the officers shot Rodriguez. Exactly what prompted the officer to pull the trigger was unknown.

Rodriguez is expected to be OK, but he is facing charges of resisting a peace officer and being under the influence of drugs.

No officers were hurt.
