6 juveniles nabbed for Moorpark home burglary

MOORPARK, Calif.

On the night of the incident, witnesses said they saw a group of people leaving the back yard of a neighbor's residence while no one was home.

The incident occurred in the 13000 block of Williams Ranch Road.

The witnesses called the homeowner who returned home and found property had been stolen, including jewelry.

Shortly after the burglary, a Moorpark School Resource officer recovered jewelry at Moorpark High School, which matched the jewelry stolen during the Halloween burglary.

Upon investigation, authorities identified a total of six juveniles who were involved in the burglary or the sales of some of the stolen property. During the investigation, more stolen property was recovered from the homes of the suspects. Three of the suspects were 16 years old and the other three were 15 years old. All are residents of Moorpark.

Officials said one suspect was booked into juvenile hall and the other five were cited and released for charges that included burglary and possession of stolen property.
