A study by the British Journal of Cancer shows a link between processed meats, like sausages and bacon, and pancreatic cancer.
Researchers say for every 50-gram serving of processed meats that you eat every day, your cancer risk goes up 19 percent.
However, Dr. Richard Besser, ABC News' chief medical editor, said the overall risk of cancer is still relatively low.
"Right now, your lifetime risk of pancreatic cancer is 1.4 percent. If you have a serving of processed meat per day, your risk would go up to 1.7 percent. Still very small," said Besser.
Doctors warn that while this new conclusion about breakfast meat is not surprising, there are other big risk factors for pancreatic cancer like smoking, diabetes, obesity and lack of exercise.
