There's a reason why some people like fatty foods and some don't. According to a new study, it's due to a sixth sense for fat.

Scientists at Washington University in St. Louis say they have found the previously unknown sixth sense. For many years, it was assumed that the human tongue could only detect five tastes: sweet, sour, salt, bitter and savory.

But now researchers say certain people consume fatty foods because they are less sensitive to the fat taste.

Scientists hope their study will eventually help combat diabetes and obesity.
