Two women with Down syndrome finish Rose Bowl Half Marathon

PASADENA, Calif.

Antoinette Mendoza, 43, and 25-year-old Angela Armenta crossed the finish line of the Rose Bowl Half Marathon on Sunday. They completed the 13.1-mile race with friends and family cheering them on.

"I feel great, I feel great for the marathon," said Mendoza.

Mendoza finished the race in 3 hours and 18 minutes. Armenta crossed the finish line in just under 5 hours.

Both women said that they were inspired to run the race after seeing two of their male friends with developmental disabilities compete in five marathons.

The women will now prepare to run the Los Angeles Marathon on March 18.
