Mira Costa High student arrested for pot possession, student threats

MANHATTAN BEACH, Calif.

Police responded to a tip and arrested the student at his house Tuesday at 3:40 p.m.

The Manhattan Beach Unified School District issued a letter to employees and parents Wednesday informing them of the incident. The letter said police had interviewed witnesses and the student, prompting the arrest.

The letter, written by MBUSD Superintendent Michael Matthews, stated the student has been suspended pending a recommendation for expulsion.
