Copper thieves arrested under Compton vacant house

COMPTON, Calif.

Deputies arrived at the location, a vacant house, within three minutes. They heard voices from under the house. The hidden suspects reportedly heard deputies calling for a K-9 unit and decided to surrender.

The two suspects underneath the house, Guillermo Fraire, 19, and Michele Damato, 18, were arrested. Fatima Alvaro, 25 was arrested in a getaway car outside the house.

Investigators determined the suspects were attempting to steal copper piping from underneath the house, according the sheriff's department.

Copper pipes from another residence were found in the car.

The three suspects were arrested for residential burglary and booked at the Century Regional Detention Facility of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. Each has a bail set at $50,000.00. The three suspects are Compton residents.
