Bank robbery suspect wearing helmet may have been 'Snowboarder Bandit'

ANAHEIM, Calif.

On Monday, a man wearing a motorcycle helmet robbed the SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union at 8152 East Santa Ana Canyon Rd. in Anaheim Hills.

His face can't be seen, but the FBI suspects that he is the Snowboarder Bandit, who has robbed eight other Orange County banks since December. The robber handed the teller a demand note, matching the pattern established by the Snowboarder Bandit.

In Monday's holdup, the robber was wearing a black motorcycle helmet and a suit with a white, button-down shirt. He was described as about 6 feet tall with a thin build, matching the Snowboarder Bandit, Anaheim police Sgt. Bob Dunn said.

The suspect often wore ski clothes and a knit hat, but he may have changed his appearance. Investigators said they're not ruling out that it could be someone else.

Anyone with information was asked to contact the FBI at (310) 477-6565.
