John Hurgner disappeared March 22 while hiking near Mission Springs campground. The 75-year-old Texan was supposed to check in at a motel, but never arrived.
Over the weekend, volunteers from Riverside County Search and Rescue joined San Bernardino County crews.
They confirmed that they found Hurgner safe on Sunday near Big Bear. There was no word on where he was found.
