Beverly Center-area stabbing death suspect arrested

A 29-year-old Los Angeles man was arrested for allegedly stabbing and killing another man following a dispute.

Los Angeles police detectives found the victim lying in the street in the 300 block of North Orlando Avenue early Saturday morning. Authorities initially thought the man was injured in a car crash but soon found several stab wounds. The man was not identified but described only as a 27-year-old Asian man.

Upon investigation, detectives believe the victim was involved in a dispute, which resulted in the stabbing.

Police identified the suspect as Richard Herrera. He was arrested and booked for murder.

The exact motive behind the dispute and stabbing remains under investigation.
