Hermosa Beach women targeted in iPhone thefts

HERMOSA BEACH, Calif.

The first attack took place Saturday just before 2 a.m. in the 1800 block of Hermosa Avenue. Three women were walking home from the Pier Avenue promenade when two men approached them and grabbed phones from two of the women.

In addition to the phones, Hermosa police said the suspects also grabbed a purse from one of the women before taking off. Officials said one of the women suffered an injury to her arm.

The victims described the suspects as black men between 20 and 30 years old, wearing hooded jackets and dark pants.

Two days later, a woman walking along the 500 block of Pier Avenue had her iPhone stolen. The women were not attacked by the same suspects.
