Bobby Brown in rehab after March DUI arrest

NEW YORK

The representative said Brown checked into a confidential center last week, as part of an agreement following his March DUI arrest in Los Angeles.

According to his publicist, the R & B singer's plea agreement in the case requires that he get treatment for alcohol use.

The news comes one day before the opening of his former wife Whitney Houston's final film, "Sparkle."

Houston died in February at the age of 48.

Brown married his manager Alicia Etheredge-Brown in June.

Brown still plans to perform scheduled solo concerts and tour with his group New Edition. His first album in 14 years came out this summer.
