'Dancing With The Stars' celebs anticipate tough competition

LOS ANGELES

There are six people who already have mirror ball trophies, and several previous season runners up - some who were so close to that trophy they can taste it.

"We have all fan favorites, former champions, so we need to be noticed right off the bat because if you're not noticed, you're going to go home," said Tony Dovolani. "We are really hoping that we do set the bar."

Dovolani is paired with his partner from season eight, Melissa Rycroft. While some stars got their original partner back, some did not, like Shawn Johnson. Instead of dancing with Mark Ballas, the season eight champ is partnered with Derek Hough.

"Normally the first couple weeks, you are literally teaching your partner how to walk," Hough said. "It was kind of exciting to come in and the first day, be like, 'Oh we can start choreographing now.'"

Sabrina Bryan was the last cast member added after being voted in by the fans. She's also dancing with a new partner, Louis van Amstel.

"The people that have already danced before, they have chemistry naturally, so they have a head start," he said. "At the same time, people expect them to have the same chemistry as they had in their season. If you're completely new, no one expects anything, so I think it could be a blessing and a curse."

For week one, half the dancers will do the Fox Trot, and half will do the Cha Cha.

"It's a very fun, light, happy dance, and I feel like we're sort of a fun, happy couple," Hough said.

The fun begins at 8 p.m. on ABC7.
