6.2 magnitude quake shakes Baja California

CABO SAN LUCAS, Mexico The U.S. Geological Survey said the quake was centered about 47 miles (75 kilometers) north-northeast of the city of La Paz, Baja California Sur. The USGS said the quake occurred at about 4:45 p.m. local time and was centered offshore in the Gulf of California. A 4.6-magnitude aftershock struck about 20 minutes later.

A receptionist at CostaBaja Resort and Spa in La Paz said the quake was felt but it didn't seem to last long in their area.
