I-5 in Glendale reopens after big rig crash

GLENDALE, Calif.

The crash happened around 2:30 a.m. just north of Colorado Street near Griffith Park. The driver of the big rig was traveling northbound, lost control and hit the center divider.

Concrete debris scattered onto southbound lanes, damaging several cars. Officials said about 20 drivers got flat tires or other damage to their vehicles. No injuries were reported.

"I have three flat tires. I have front and back bumpers, they're broken. I don't know what happened under the car, so I got to check it out tomorrow," said driver Martik Sargysan.

At one point, all lanes on both sides of the freeway were closed, and traffic was diverted onto the 134 Freeway. Authorities said some fuel spilled onto the freeway. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
