Newtown shooting: Funerals held for 5 more students, Nancy Lanza

NEWTOWN, Conn.

Gunman Adam Lanza burst into Sandy Hook Elementary School last Friday, killing 20 children and six adults before committing suicide. He also allegedly shot and killed his mother, Nancy Lanza, at their home before heading to the school.

Seven-year-old Grace McDonnell, described by her parents as the "love and light" of their family, will be laid to rest Thursday. Funeral services will also be held for 6-year-olds Benjamin Andrew Wheeler, Catherine Violet Hubbard, Jesse Lewis and Allison Wyatt.

A memorial service was scheduled for teacher Lauren Gabrielle Rousseau, who was substituting on the day of the shooting.

Family members and friends of teacher Anne Marie Murphy will also say their final goodbyes in Katonah, N.Y.

A private funeral for Nancy Lanza was also held Thursday at an undisclosed location in New Hampshire, Kingston Police Department Chief Donald Briggs said.

About 25 of Nancy Lanza's family members were present. The family is expected to decide her burial date at a later time.

At least nine funerals and wakes were held Wednesday, and more are planned.
