This is the house where it apparently happened; the home where a 2-year-old child somehow ate an unknown amount of chili powder and died.
A neighbor who didn't want to appear on camera says he saw police carry the 2-year-old child out of the home.
"I did see a little body being carried out, and I didn't know what it was, but I didn't want to be rude and go over and start asking questions," said the neighbor.
Police say the 2-year-old girl had a seizure after eating the chili powder. She was taken to a hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Amanda Sorenson, 21, is under arrest, charged child abuse causing death. Sorenson is the girlfriend of the child's father.
"I can't imagine a parent purposely doing something to a young child like that. But then again, I don't know them well enough to know what kind of temperament they had," said neighbor Patricia Amado.
Sorenson was arrested for child abuse resulting in death. She's in jail on $500,000 bail. Her arraignment is expected on Wednesday.
