A letter was sent to the Whittier Union High School district, notifying them that a student or staff member associated with Whittier High School had tested positive for TB.
Tuberculosis is spread through sneezing and coughing. Some parents told Eyewitness News that they are not taking any chances.
"We're going to make an appointment and schedule her in hopefully before the end of the week, maybe as early as today," said parent Monica Vazquez.
The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health says it has contacted students and teachers who could have been exposed.
Officials say no one else has tested positive for TB so far.
