Glendale Downtown Dash emphasizes stroke awareness

GLENDALE, Calif.

The event, which emphasizes stroke awareness, is hosted by the Glendale Adventist Medical Center and the Downtown Glendale Merchants Association.

The 5K run/walk, now in its 6th year, winds through the heart of downtown Glendale. The route takes participants down Brand Boulevard, through the Americana at Brand shopping center and back up Brand again.

All proceeds from the event go toward the Glendale Adventist Medical Center Stroke Services program. The hospital says stroke is the second leading cause of death in the San Fernando Valley and also the second leading cause of adult disability in America.

The event has raised $400,000 so far. You can donate to the cause by visiting www.active.com/donate/DowntownDash.
