Rolling Stones '50 & Counting' tour to kick off at Staples Center

LOS ANGELES

The L.A. date has yet to be announced, but it will be the first stop of the "50 & Counting" tour. The tour will then proceed to Oakland, San Jose, Las Vegas and Anaheim before moving on to other American cities and Toronto. The band will also play London's Hyde Park in July.

"50 & Counting" celebrates the band's first 50 years.

"We did a few shows in London and New York last year ... and had such a good time that we thought ... let's do some more," Mick Jagger said in a statement. "It's a good show. Lots of the classic stuff everyone wants to hear ... with a few little gems tucked in here and there."

"From day one at rehearsals it sounded so fresh. You could tell that everybody was dying to get their teeth into it," Keith Richards said. "... it is the life and blood of us to play in front of people."

Tickets for the Oakland, San Jose, Toronto and Chicago shows go on sale Monday, April 8, with pre-sale tickets available beginning Friday, April 5. Ticket sales for the band's two Southern California shows -- the Staples Center (date TBA) and the Honda Center (May 15) -- will be announced later.

The band released a nearly 2-minute video Wednesday featuring Jagger, Richards, Charlie Watts and Ronnie Wood chatting about getting together again.
