Frozen foods recall expanded over E. coli contamination

LOS ANGELES

Last month, Rich Products Corp. recalled mini pizza slices, philly cheese steaks, mozzarella bites and mini quesadillas.

The affected products were produced at the company's Waycross, Ga., plant with "best by" dates ranging from Jan. 1, 2013, to Sept. 29, 2014.

Officials were notified about the E. coli illnesses on March 19. The outbreak includes 24 cases in 15 states. A sample of a Farm Rich frozen chicken mini quesadilla product and a Farm Rich mini pepperoni pizza slices product tested positive for the outbreak strain of E. coli.
