Video released of Long Beach groping suspect on bicycle

LONG BEACH, Calif.

Female victims from ages 12 to the mid-60s have been sexually assaulted since September 2012. The groping is believed to be done by one man. Each victim was walking on a sidewalk when a suspect rode up next to them on a bicycle and grabbed breasts or buttocks as he rode by.

The first incident occurred on Sept. 15, 2012, continued in October and November, then stopped. Seven more incidents were reported since then, beginning in February.

New video footage released by police depicts the suspect in an alley on March 15.

The suspect is wanted for sexual battery. He was described as a white or Latino man about 35-45 years old, standing between 5 feet 6 inches and 6 feet tall, weighing 180-240 pounds, with gray-and-black hair. Descriptions of the bicycle have varied; the suspect is believed to have access to more than one.

In the March 25, 2013, incident, the crime was witnessed by a person in the area who called police. However, when police arrived, the victim had already left the area. Detectives are hoping that victim will come forward so she can be interviewed.
