Bell High School locked down: suspicious packages

BELL, Calif.

A pedestrian noticed two unattended backpacks set against a fence. The passerby called the school.

Los Angeles Unified School District Police investigated the incident.

A Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department bomb squad responded to the scene.

The backpacks were reported at about 1:20 p.m.

The bomb squad found no immediate danger with the backpacks, and the lockdown was lifted and normal school operations resumed at 2:15 p.m.
