Lancaster authorities release sketch of suspected child predator

LANCASTER, Calif.

Investigators have released a composite sketch of the suspect.

According to authorities, the young girl was walking home from New Vista Elementary School near Avenue K and Challenger Way when she was approached by the suspect in his car.

The suspect attempted to entice the child into the vehicle several times but she continued walking eastbound on Avenue K. A passing motorist observed the interaction, drove the victim home and notified law enforcement.

The predator was described as a Hispanic male between 30 to 50 years old with a thin build and mustache. He was last seen driving a white compact vehicle.
