Cat with 9-inch fur sets Guinness World Record

LOS ANGELES

Owners Anne Marie Avey and Eric Rosario say the 2-year-old Himalayan-Persian mix got his name because of his frown and epic 9-inch fur.

Three independent veterinarians verified the length of the colonel's hair and submitted their findings to Guinness before he won the title.

His hair needs to be brushed two to three times a week and Avey and Rosario say it gets all over their Los Angeles home.

Avey says the 10-pound cat has his own website, Facebook page and YouTube channel with more than 2 million views.
