Deputies responded to the 1900 block of East Avenue R-6 shortly before midnight to a report of gun shots. When they arrived on scene, they found the wounded victim, who was transported to an area hospital. His condition was not known.
Investigators received a tip from a neighbor, who told them the suspect fled to a second address. The suspect was arrested at that location.
The exact relationship between the victim and gunman is not clear, but officials say they're relatives. Authorities say alcohol may have contributed to the dispute.
Palmdale police say the suspect was also taken to the hospital, but it remains unclear how he was injured.
