Hemet woman attacked at assisted living facility: 1 arrested, 1 outstanding

HEMET, Calif.

The two young intruders allegedly broke into her assisted living apartment on Oakland Avenue around 3 a.m. Thursday.

According to Hemet police Lt. Dean Evans, the woman was asleep and awoke to find "intruders" in her residence. One of the suspects then beat her.

It appears the suspects also vandalized several cars before entering the Camelot Independent Living Facility.

It remains unknown if anything was taken from her bedroom. The victim, whose identity was not released, remains hospitalized in serious but stable condition.

Police were able to track down a 15-year-old suspect and arrest him following a foot chase and brief struggle. He was booked into Southwest Juvenile Hall.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information was asked to call Hemet police Detective Doug Klinzing at (951) 765-2423.
