Alleged arsonist Tased by police in Hollywood

HOLLYWOOD, Calif.

Los Angeles police responded to a report of a man damaging a four-story apartment building in the 1400 block of North Poinsettia Place just before midnight. The building was under construction.

The suspect allegedly threw wood out of windows and damaged a brand new BMW by busting out the moonroof.

He then fled westbound on North Fuller Avenue, and ran into the second floor of a house. Police say he barricaded himself inside, and started lighting items on fire.

The man was eventually Tased and taken into custody. Investigators say he is facing arson and burglary charges.

One officer suffered a minor injury to his ankle while apprehending the suspect. He was treated at the scene by responding paramedics.
