Amber Alert canceled, Huron girl found safe

HURON, Calif.

The girl was reunited with her mother and examined by paramedics.

Tanya Ruiz was allegedly abducted from her mother's car around 7:45 p.m., according to the CHP. Her mother says she strapped Tanya into her car seat and went back inside the house to get her wallet. When she returned a few minutes later, Tanya was gone.

Witnesses told investigators they saw a suspect leaving the area on a bicycle with the child. A bicycle was later recovered one block away from the scene of the abduction.

The little girl is Hispanic, about 3 feet tall, 33 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a brown shirt with flowers, blue jean shorts and white sandals.

The suspect was described as a man in his 30s. He was last seen wearing a red shirt and red hat. Investigators believe he has long hair.

Huron police were searching the field for the suspect.
