Molotov cocktails thrown at Boyle Heights apartments

The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire on Crusado Lane and Vanegas Lane at the Ramona Gardens housing project at about 12:45 a.m. Monday. When they arrived, they found that at least two Molotov cocktails had been thrown at two apartment buildings.

One of the Molotov cocktails broke through a window and ignited curtains inside a unit; the other hit the building and bounced off the wall. Fire officials say one of the fire bombs looked like a bottle with a sock lit on fire.

No injuries were reported, and it's unclear if any residents have been displaced due to the fire.

There are security cameras on the streets where the incidents happened. Invesitgators were reviewing the recordings to see if the cameras captured anthing that will lead to person or persons responsible.

A motive has not been determined. Arson investigators and the LAPD are investigating the incident.
