19-year-old woman kidnapped, beaten in Pasadena

PASADENA, Calif. -- A 19-year-old woman was kidnapped and beaten by three attackers she met on social media, according to Pasadena police.

Detectives said the woman, who is from Los Angeles, traveled to Pasadena Wednesday night to meet the group in the area of Fair Oaks Avenue and Orange Grove Boulevard.

After the woman got into a car, described as a newer model Honda Pilot, authorities said she was beaten by three suspects - two men and one woman. A detailed description of the suspects was not available, though police said the three were in their 20s.

According to investigators, after the suspects beat the victim, they dropped her off at an unknown location in Glendale.

The victim suffered severe injuries, police said.

The reason for the kidnap and beating was under investigation.
