SAN JOSE, Calif. (KABC) -- A small plane crashed into a home in San Jose Sunday afternoon, injuring at least three people.
Authorities said a Cessna 172 plane crashed into the garage of a single-family home around 3 p.m. The single-engine aircraft departed from Reid-Hillview Airport, which wasn't far from the neighborhood where it crashed.
Authorities said the pilot reported a system failure and tried to return to the airport, but did not make it back.
The aircraft had three passengers, two of whom suffered major injuries and one minor. They were all taken to nearby hospitals. No one else suffered any injuries, authorities said.
Some people were in the home at the time of the crash, but were not hurt.
No further information was immediately released.
The investigation was ongoing.
