Heartwarming video of mom with Alzheimer's remembering daughter's name

Alzheimer's disease is one of the most heartbreaking health afflictions a person and their family can go through. With the rapid mental deterioration of their mental state, families and friends literally watch their loved ones fade away before their eyes. But one daughter got a brief moment of hope when her Alzheimer's stricken mom remembered her name.

In the video seen above, Kelly Gunderson is laying in bed with her mother, having a conversation while reminding her mom of things she has forgotten. But Gunderson's mother states "Didn't I name you Kelly?", indicating that she had some memory of her and her daughter.



The video is simultaneously tragic and touching, showing how crippling Alzheimer's can be, but also how love can persevere through it.
