Burned body found after La Habra fire

LAFD investigating whether fire is arson

Police say a burned body has been found in a vacant lot that caught fire in La Habra. Authorities say the body appears to be that of a male who was killed by the brush fire, which was reported about 4:30 p.m. Saturday. No one else was injured.

Los Angeles County fire fighters put out the flames before they could damage any of the three homes that border the lot.

La Habra police Sgt. Mel Ruiz says investigators are working to determine whether the fire was accidental or intentionally set.
